St. Matthew

African Methodist Episcopal Church of Raleigh...Established 1867

Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.  I thank my God through Jesus Christ that , "by faith, through grace", we have come this far on our journey, and are blessed to witness a historic time in the life of Saint Matthew African Methodist Episcopal Church.

We thank God for the unsung heroes and sheroes that have come and gone and contributed in ways large and small for the physical, spiritual, financial development, and growth of Saint Matthew.

Believing in God, His Son our Savior, Jesus Christ, the philosophy and theology of Richard Allen, this church has survived amidst dangers seen and unseen, the wiles of the devil, and fighting without and within.  Yet, through it all by our faith, through God's grace, we have weathered the storms and have sustained.  We thank God for Major Lane, the founding fathers and mothers, and all who have come through the doors or have been a part in making Saint Matthew what it is today by power divine.

We thank and praise God for them individually and collectively.  We also pray to the Lord of the harvest to send us some workers to continue in the spirit of yesteryear and Christ Jesus, while working out our own soul salvation.

We invite you to visit with us at St. Matthew. Please visit our website and learn more about us.
