THE VIEW FROM MY PEW
On Sunday, October 4th, 2009, Allen Chapel AME celebrated its 137th church anniversary. Rev. Robinson was the homecoming speaker and the red carpet was pulled out for us. We were served a delicious dinner before the service.

Rev. Robinson had served as pastor from 1987 to 1992. The presiding officer for the afternoon program Byron Carver who at the age of 13, under Rev. Robinson's pastorage, had been one of the youth who served as worship leaders every second Sunday.

Obviously, Rev & Mrs. Robinson were fondly remembered. With us went the Combined Choir who sang "til the power of the Lord came down".

The lady who introduced Rev. Robinson was blind.  She gave a synopsis of his life as though she  was reading the liner note.  I had my sister looking with me for braille notes---there were none.  When I congratulated her on her fine memory, she said she forgot to say that he was on the Board of Examiners.

It was a wonderful afternoon.
